Board Meeting Information

Every 2nd Tuesday of the month (excluding the summer months), the CCRA Board meets to discuss what's happening with our organization and neighborhood.  The meeting are open to our members.  Beginning in September 2019, the materials from the Board will be listed here.  Please note, minutes will be posted the month following the meeting, after the Board approves them.

November 12, 2019

Board members heard from State Senator Larry Farnese about goings on in Harrisburg. Senator Farnese explained why he voted against the budget in June (it eliminated General Assistance). He also spoke about how close the PA legislature is to becoming blue, and how that could impact such progressive causes as gun control, redistricting, and school funding.

We also had a presentation by Brandywine Realty Trust about their proposed mixed use development in the 2100 block of Market Street (Between the fire station and June 5th Memorial Park); the board voted to adopt the Community Development and Benefit Agreement (CBA) negotiated on behalf of CCRA by our major development task force. This CBA included an Economic Opportunity Plan (“EOP”) establishing goals for Professional Services Contracts, Construction Contracts Construction Workforce opportunities available to minority, women, disabled and disadvantaged business enterprises, a first for CCRA.   Moving forward, CCRA intends to include an EOP in every CBA we develop. As CCRA’ville has multiple large construction projects underway at any one time, these EOPs may eventually make a difference in providing opportunities for disadvantaged populations. Other official action included the adoption of a CCRA Mission Statement, which follows:

“Serving as the voice of Center City West since 1947, the Center City Residents’ Association (CCRA) promotes urban living; advocates for a safe, clean, diverse, and supportive community; pursues governmental accountability; and encourages responsible development while preserving the neighborhood's historic heritage.
