Committee Goals and Activities:

The Annual Meeting Committee is responsible for arranging the year's final general membership meeting program, which offers a blend of the old, the new, and issues of interest to the membership.

Typically, the meeting agenda includes the election of Executive Officers and Board Directors who will replace those whose terms have expired. The Board President presents a summary report of the past year's initiatives, and results. Two significant awards are presented to deserving recipients: the Historic Preservation Award (selected by the Historic Preservation Committee) and the Community Service award (selected by the Executive Committee.)

A major responsibility of the committee is deciding upon an appropriate theme or topic for presentation by a panel of speakers, searching for and contacting qualified presenters, and making all related arrangements to create a smooth and comfortable process for all.

Finally, the committee selects the meeting location, arranges publicity, interacts with event sponsors, purchases gifts when appropriate, solicits donations of refreshments from local merchants and restaurants, and prepares written correspondence and expressions of gratitude.
