HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
Committee Goals and Activities: The purpose of the Historical Preservation Committee is to contribute to the enhancement of the quality of the experience of residents and visitors in the Center City area through the preservation of historically significant assets that serve to define the unique character of the community. The historic district of primary concern is within the boundaries of South Street, Broad Street, John F. Kennedy Boulevard and the Schuylkill River; the focal area for the Center City Residents’ Association is more specifically depicted in CCRA's Neighborhood Plan. Historically significant assets consist of buildings and other properties—either
publicly held or privately owned—that have played an important role in
the history and/or style of life of our city, state and/or nation. The
Neighborhood Plan will be employed as a guide in the deliberations of
the committee.
